Although using cardboard cryoboxes in a freezer may not seem like the most obvious solution at first, these cryoboxes are made from high-quality materials. They are designed to withstand the demanding environments associated with cryogenic storage. The boxes feature a protective coating that provides high moisture resistance and resistance to mild chemicals. The combination of quality materials, effective moisture protection and chemical-resistant coating gives the cardboard cryoboxes long durability and makes them suitable for storage over longer periods.
Divider system and design
The cardboard boxes feature interchangeable dividers, making them highly flexible in use. Different divider sizes can be purchased separately, allowing the box to be adapted as needed. For example, a 9 x 9 divider can be replaced with a 10 x 10 divider.
With a 9 x 9 divider, the cardboard box can store 81 samples, while a 10 x 10 divider can hold up to 100 narrow cryovials. If larger tubes need to be stored, the divider can be removed so samples can be placed directly in the box. These many configuration options make the cardboard boxes a flexible solution for laboratory storage.
The boxes are designed to fit standard freezers. They are supplied in the standard size of 133 x 133 mm and are 133 mm high. The boxes can be used without difficulty in modern, space-efficient storage racks. The surface is also easy to write on, making it simple to index samples before freezing.
133 mm cardboard boxes are available with a 9 x 9 divider or without a divider. The divider height is 65 mm. Separate dividers in 4 x 4, 5 x 5, 7 x 7 and 9 x 9 formats can be purchased separately.
