These 1.2 mL sample tubes with an external thread are designed for secure sample storage and reliable sample identification in laboratory environments. Each tube is equipped with both a 1D barcode and a permanent 2D Data Matrix code, enabling fast, accurate, and fully traceable sample registration. The combination of both barcode formats provides enhanced security and makes the tubes ideal for both manual handling and automated laboratory workflows.

Compared to internally threaded tubes, externally threaded tubes offer a larger working volume and are designed for both short- and long-term sample storage at temperatures ranging from -196 °C to 121 °C.

Manufactured from medical-grade virgin polypropylene, the tubes are certified free from DNase, RNase, and pyrogens, making them suitable for demanding laboratory applications. The tubes have a working volume of 1.2 mL and are compatible with 9 × 9 storage racks.

Permanent 2D Data Matrix Code

Each tube features a laser-engraved 2D Data Matrix code on the black base, designed to withstand daily use even in demanding laboratory environments. The code remains readable even if up to 30% of the barcode is damaged, ensuring exceptional reliability.

Choosing the correct cleanliness level is essential for maintaining sample quality and integrity. In many laboratories, products manufactured in cleanroom environments are sufficient without necessarily requiring sterilization.

AlteClean™ tubes are manufactured under controlled cleanroom conditions and are certified free from non-viable biological contaminants. They are free from DNA, RNA, DNase, RNase, and endotoxins.

Sterile tubes, on the other hand, are defined as being free from viable microorganisms. While sterilization eliminates living organisms, non-viable biological residues may still remain.
