25 mL centrifuge tubes are conical centrifuge tubes with screw caps, designed for laboratories that require a volume between traditional 15 mL and 50 mL tubes. With a capacity of 25 mL, these tubes provide a practical solution for sample preparation, mixing, centrifugation, and secure sample storage.
The tube has the same diameter as a standard 50 mL centrifuge tube but with a height reduced by 33%. This compact design offers several practical advantages, including lower shipping costs, reduced plastic consumption, and decreased storage requirements. At the same time, the low-profile design supports faster pellet resuspension and ensures optimal recovery of small sample volumes.
The wide diameter combined with the low-profile design reduces the risk of cross-contamination during pipetting. The possibility of accidental contact between the pipette and the inner wall of the tube is eliminated, contributing to safer sample handling.
The MTC Bio version features a 360° support flange located directly below the thread. This design allows the tube to be used in most racks, blocks, and rotors without the need for an adapter. The tube is equipped with clear graduations and a white writing area for easy sample identification.
Manufactured from high-clarity polypropylene, the tube is tested for centrifugation at forces up to 17,000 × g. It is supplied sterile and certified free from RNase, DNase, and pyrogens. Each package contains 25 tubes with attached screw caps.
The SPL Life Sciences version is also manufactured from high-clarity polypropylene. The tube is tested for centrifugation at forces up to 18,000 × g and is supplied sterile and certified free from RNase, DNase, and pyrogens. The tubes are packaged in bags of 25, including attached screw caps.
