(excl. VAT)Labcon ViewPoint® centrifuge tubes make it easy to monitor the current temperature of samples during laboratory work, transport, and storage. The tubes feature an innovative temperature indicator that visually displays temperature through color changes directly on the tube.
At temperatures around 4°C, the tube changes from transparent to light blue. When the temperature reaches 0°C or below, the color changes to dark blue. This clear temperature indication provides users with better control of sample handling and can contribute to more efficient workflows and improved processing times.
The temperature-sensitive centrifuge tubes feature a conical bottom and can withstand centrifugation up to 12,500 × G (RCF). They are equipped with clear black graduations and a reverse-reading scale, ensuring easy and accurate volume measurement.
For simple sample identification, the tubes include a large white writing area with a patented anti-smudge surface. In addition, the flat cap provides extra space for labeling.
The tube itself is manufactured from polystyrene made from high-quality non-cytotoxic medical-grade resin, while the cap is made from polyethylene and features a distinctive green color.
Labcon ViewPoint® centrifuge tubes are designed with both user convenience and safety in mind. The cap is closed by simply turning it ¾ of a turn, creating a vapor-tight seal. An additional ¼ turn provides a completely leak-proof and secure closure.
The streamlined design allows the cap to be opened and closed in a single smooth motion. This significantly reduces wrist strain compared to traditional centrifuge tubes, where multiple turns are often required. Over time, this can help minimize the risk of repetitive strain injuries.
The tubes have been validated through both the Sperm Motility Assay (SMA) and Mouse Embryo Assay (MEA), making them suitable for cell culture applications and other demanding laboratory procedures.
Labcon ViewPoint® centrifuge tubes are developed in Labcon’s own laboratory and subsequently tested in professional external laboratories. These validation studies demonstrate that the tubes are suitable for most common centrifugation applications.
All sterile Labcon products are packaged in medical-grade packaging and sterilized using a validated ISO 11137 method. The sterilization process achieves a Sterility Assurance Level (SAL) of 10⁻⁶, making the products particularly suitable for research and medical laboratories.
Labcon manufactures its centrifuge tubes with a strong focus on sustainability and responsible resource management. Production takes place at the company’s own facilities in California, where 93% of energy consumption comes from renewable energy sources.
The products are manufactured using sustainable materials, including bioplastics and recyclable plastics. Packaging is designed to minimize plastic usage and is printed with heavy-metal-free inks.
Laboratories rely on plastic products for research and analysis, but a significant portion of the environmental impact originates from the manufacturing process itself. By choosing Labcon Earth Friendly products, laboratories can substantially reduce their overall environmental footprint.
Labcon is registered with the FDA as a medical device manufacturer and operates under extensive quality control procedures. Products are manufactured in carefully monitored production environments and undergo comprehensive testing for precision, clarity, centrifugation performance, torsional strength, and freedom from contamination.
The resin used complies with FDA CFR 21 GMP requirements, meaning the products are approved for food-contact applications.
