Dulbecco's Phosphate Buffered Saline (DPBS)
Dulbecco's Phosphate Buffered Saline (DPBS) is a sterile, balanced salt solution without calcium and magnesium, developed for the maintenance of mammalian cells during in vitro applications. This chemically defined solution provides a stable environment that helps preserve the structural and physiological integrity of cells during laboratory procedures.
DPBS is widely used in cell culture and molecular biology. It serves as a diluent for cell counting, for washing cells, and as a buffer in a variety of chromatographic procedures. It is also suitable for washing and resuspending cells during dissociation processes.
As the solution does not contain calcium or magnesium ions, it does not inhibit trypsin activity, making it particularly suitable for procedures involving enzymatic cell dissociation.
Analysed, Qualified and Tested
Biowest performs comprehensive quality control on all products prior to shipment. Every batch is analysed, qualified, and tested, and is supplied with a Certificate of Analysis (CoA) documenting the product's quality.
Biowest's quality management system ensures complete traceability throughout the entire manufacturing process. Raw materials can be traced back to the original supplier and slaughterhouse where they were collected. This vertically integrated production process provides documented origin and complete traceability from raw material to finished product.
The geographical origin of all raw materials can be traced, and additional information is available upon request.
Traceability is an integral part of Biowest's ISO audits. Every batch of sterile product is internally monitored from raw material receipt, through filtration, to final labelling. Documentation is available in both electronic and paper formats, enabling identification of every individual bottle and batch while providing complete documentation of the product's origin.
