The CytoSep Cell Concentrator is a centrifuge insert designed to efficiently concentrate cells from low-cellularity liquid samples. This specialized disposable device is used in cytology laboratories where reliable sample preparation is essential for microscopic examination.
It is suitable for processing samples such as urine, cerebrospinal fluid, bronchial washings, ascitic fluid and pleural fluid. The CytoSep Cell Concentrator is widely used in both diagnostic cytology and research applications requiring cell concentration from liquid specimens.
During centrifugation, cells are gently concentrated into a 7 mm diameter area on the microscope slide while the supernatant is absorbed by a filter. This creates a well-defined cell deposit that is ready for staining and microscopic analysis. The concentrator is suitable for sample volumes from 50-400 µl and is compatible with the StatSpin Cytofuge 2 cytocentrifuge.
